Christian Refugees: Irbil is Our ‘Last Stand’ in Iraq

#1

Over 100,000 Christians are estimated to have fled to Irbil from places like the Plain of Mosul and Qaraqosh, a town which dates back to 1,000 years before Christ and which was inhabited by mostly Christians for 2,000 years . . .

Noting that airstrikes have done nothing to stop the ISIS advance so far, Irbil’s Chaldean archbishop called on his expanded flock to defend themselves from the Muslim onslaught . . .

“What we are living is the last chapter of an ancient story,” Father Rian, a Chaldean Catholic priest who celebrates Mass for the refugees at St. Joseph’s Cathedral in Irbil, told NP.

At least 100,000 Christians have fled the ISIS advance across the Ninenveh plains in Iraq, a country which has been home to one of the oldest Christian communities in the world . . .

He’s (Archbishop Bashar Warda, a leader of the Chaldean church) also not convinced arms alone are enough to defeat the militants.

“ISIS is an ideology which is spread all over Mosul,” he says. “Only [300] to 400 entered Mosul and within one day they became 5,000 … so it’s the mentality.”

The Ethnic Cleansing of Christians continues unabated in Iraq, and CNN, FOX, MSNBC and the NBC, ABC, and CBS and almost all the American newspapers (except for one) are all silent about it.

Shame on CNN, FOX, MSNBC.

Shame on NBC, ABC, and CBS.

Shame on all the newspapers.

Note their silence on this matter.

I heard about it on the Canadian News (CBC).
