Classic Christmas movies

Were the old movies "Going My Way" and "The Bells of St. Mary's" shown on TV in your area? There was a time when they were shown regularly at Christmas, but I haven't seen them in ages.

Nope - but we have tehm on tape so can watch them whenever we want - which is fairly often.

I particularly Love the segment in "Bells" where teh 1st graders rehearse the Christmas play.

one of the classic movie channels just got done running a whole slew of old der Bingle movies, these among them. I see them listed at least 3-4 times a year, so I no longer tivo them since I can see them rather often.

:twocents:

To me, nothing says Christmas like Mr Magoo’s Christmas Carol.

I do, too! It’s completely natural–there’s no way the director could have improved that scene. It’s precious and funny without being sappy–the way it would probably be in a more modern movie.

I always cry when Mrs. Fitzgibbon appears in "Going My Way"! :bighanky:
