Concelebration and Communion

When concelebrating a papal Mass, does the concelebrating priest receive communion from the pope? Or does he “receive” and consume communion along with the pope and all the other concelebrants?

Don’t laugh. This scene was in a good Catholic novel, but I’m wondering if my liturgical knowledge is lacking.

Thank you!

Concelebrating priests commune themselves. They would consume the Host at the same time as the principal celebrant.

Thank you, Father! That’s what I had understood.

The scene in the novel had the concelebrating priest wonder if he should receive on the tongue or in the hand. A blemish on an otherwise good story.
