Concerned about parish priest; what can I do?

#1

Dear friends,

I am still fairly new to the Faith and have some questions that have yet to be answered. That said, I feel like our parish priest has given my wife and I some very questionable advice while in the confessional. He has told us as long as you watch pornography to enhance your marriage every once in a while its ok. He has told that that finishing outside the marital embrace is ok as long as its not every time. He had told me that God is not worried about every single time you had aside in moral judgment and masturbated. He posts very hateful things about people of the opposite political party by reposting things that call those that don't agree with him stupid and dumb a**** etc.... All that said, I know where the Church stands on these issues but do not how to voice my concern about what seems to be the reckless advice he has given us that I am certain he has given to others. He also posted one of the most hateful things I have ever seen written about the state he pastors in and an industry in which a large number if the faithful in our parish are a part of. It was insulting to say the least. Sorry if I put my personal business out there or rehashed an old thread but this has worried me to my very core and has caused me to write this and seek advice from others in the Faith. Please help!!!!

Dear friend,

I suggest that you write your bishop, explaining your concern as you have done here. Let him know your concern for the priest’s spiritual welfare and that of the people he is influencing. You sound sincere are perceptive. I expect that your bishop will want to help him. We will be praying that this will happen.
