Council of Trent: What was the question?


Well, the answer was, the Eucharist is the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ.

From my reading of the 1907 Catholic Encyclopedia elsewhere on this website, it seems that the issue was that Catholics (or protestants) were demanding to receive the Eucharist under both forms, as if Eucharistic bread were not enough. Hence the answer and oft-quoted formula above.
