Daily Lenten Prayer for April 7, 2009

Opening Prayer: “Father, may we receive Your forgiveness and mercy as we celebrate the Passion and Death of the Lord.” Amen.

Scripture Readings: Isaiah 49:1-6 John 13:21-33, 36-38

Meditation: Jesus’ Passion and Death represent His triumph over suffering and death. I will remember today that Jesus’ death is my pathway to eternal life.

Closing Prayer: God of mercy, may the sacrament of salvation which renews our strength bring us a share in Your life forever. Amen.
