Daily Lenten Prayer for March 3, 2009

Opening Prayer: Father, look on us, Your children. Through the discipline of Lent help us to grow in our desire for You. Amen.

Scripture Readings: Isaiah 55:10-11 Matthew 6:7-15

Meditation: In today’s Gospel reading Jesus teaches His disciples how they are to pray. Am I sufficiently focused on God when I pray? Do I set aside time each day to pray?

Closing Prayer: Lord, help us to restrain our earthly desires and grow in love for the things of heaven. Amen.
