Death for a Catholic

Is it wrong to donate your organs when you die?
I heard it was also wrong to be cremated rather than buried.

actually, as I understand it, neither is wrong.

as long as, in the case of cremation, the ashes are buried, or at least entombed.

Neither is wrong, so long as the person isn’t trying to deny a belief in the resurrection of the body.

The only stipulation is that a person’s ashes, if they be cremated, be treated respectfully.

So no keeping them in an urn on the mantelpiece alongside the other trophies (reminds me of primitive headhunter cultures somehow), no having them made into jewellery (shudder), and no scattering them in fields or ocean like so much trash.
