They seem to be missing the main point. . . banning ordination of priests with homosexual inclinations is not just because of the scandals, it’s because the Pope correctly believes that homosexualaity is inherently disordered, and he doesn’t want the Church ordaining men with such disorders whether or not they ever act on those inclinations. What if a man confessed to wanting to have sex with animals was a part of who he was? Would you feel comfortable knowing that God’s priest, a man representing Christ, struggled with beastiality? How would reflect on the Church? While society has been busy trying to normalize homosexuality, the Church has always maintained God’s position (which is it’s job), that it’s an abomination, not just a regular sin, but a horrible sin. So homosexuality is just as bad as beastiality or murder or whatever other horrible sins you can think of from God’s perspective.

Perhaps you can pass this along.

“Or is the church saying these folks are unsuitable for priesthood because of how they’re born?” Yes.
could be a debate if you think homosexuality is “normal”. being an abomination, a contra natura practice, there is no possible debate. homosexual priest could never be the true image of Christ.

In the latter part of Romans Chapter 1 it talks about Homosexuality and Paul gives this list of what Guy people are. And this is a person that dosn’t need to be a preist.
