Sorry if this is a duplicate post.

Is there a difference between being poor in spirit and
spiritual poverty?

Thank you

The Catechism uses “poverty in spirit” and “poor in spirit” interchangeably.

I hope that helps.

Thank you for pointing me to the CCC.
I should have thought to look there, first.

One and the same. Some of the wealthiest people in the world like kings and queens have been saints because of this spirit of poverty. You can be the richest man in the world and be the poorest man in the world. You can be the poorest man in the world and be the richest man in the world. It’s determined by your complete detachment to material things and how you live this spirit of poverty. God bless:thumbsup:
