Denial of Gods leaders on earth!

I was reading in Exodus today that when Moses was given leadership by God the Jews rejected him several times.

I thought about that and realized that the Jews throughout history have rejected Gods leaders at one time or another. Today the Cathoic Church is the fullfillment of Judeism and now the protestants (and Jews) are rejecting the authority God has given to Kephas and his successors.

History repeats itself over and over as it seems.

Any thoughts on this or other instances in Scripture to bring out?:hmmm:

Peace be with you Malachi4U,

First, let me say that I am only a Candidate in the beginning of the RCIA process but I am particularly well read in a majority of Christian and Catholic Doctrines and it is my understanding, friend, that only Presbyterians posit the claim that the “church” is the inheritor of the Jewish Covenant with God. I dare say, and please pardon me if I am wrong but, the Catholic Church teaches that the Covenant of Christ through the Church is unique and distinct from the Jewish Covenant made with Abraham. The Jewish Covenant continue unchanges by the events of the Age of the Church and they are to not be evangelized or entered into dialog about conversion.

If I am mistaken, I am sure some of the Fathers here will gently correct me. May we all gain greater insight into the truths of the Church. Amen.

Peace, Love and Blessings,

Some Jews rejected him, but the thing to remember in this is simply that all people down through the ages have denied God and His leaders. The Jews corporate denial of God cannot be put on the same level as protestants. Jews who don’t believe in Jesus as fulfillment of Messiah is the problem. It would be a gross error, therefore, to equate protestants (who believe Jesus to be the Messiah) with unbelieving Jews.

The Catholic Church teaches that The Church is the fullfillment of Judaism. That through Jesus, Judaism was perfectly fullfilled and passed on to us. Scott Hahn has a great book that speaks to this. I can’t remember the title right now, but he talks about how God has continually increased His covenant - Abraham, Isaac, Noah, Jacob, Israel, all people.

Congrats on starting RCIA! Good luck and God Bless!
