Devotional History Question

What were the devotions for the earliest Christians? I remember reading that even longtime devotions such as the Holy Name and the Sacred Heart were at first looked up at skeptically (healthy skepticism?) before being embraced. Where were the Christian Devotions before them?

“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.”

Hopefully the earliest Christians were better listeners than Christians today , so I imagine they spent time reflecting on the Apostles’ teaching .

Their prayer may have been more spontaneous than ours , and when they used well-known prayers they were probably the Psalms .
