Did Jesus speak to Pilate in his native language?

I know that a previous answer resolved the question about whether Jesus spoke Greek, Aramaic, and Hebrew. I wouldn’t think that a Roman governor would condescend to speak the collequial dialect. So might not Jesus have spoken Roman (Latin) as well? Thank you.

Jesus may have spoken Latin. We simply don’t know. That Jesus may have spoken Latin to Pilate at his trial was a bit of dramatic license Mel Gibson employed in his movie The Passion of the Christ. Pilate began to speak to Jesus in Aramaic but, when Jesus responded in Latin, a startled Pilate switched to Latin. By having Christ unhesitatingly speak a language with which an ordinary Jewish peasant would have had little familiarity, the device was a means of showing Christ’s divinity.
