Did Mary and Joseph consummate the marriage?

Since Mary was a Virgin her entire life, her marriage was not consummated. Does this invalidate the marriage or does it just not make the marriage permanent? Thanks and God bless.

Dear friend,

A marriage automatically becomes valid with the exchange of vows. It becomes irrevocable when they consummate it. Mary and Joseph’s marriage was valid, but not consummated.
