Dispensation

For a marriage of a Catholic to a baptized non-Catholic, what is the process to recieve the dispensation to marry?

Is it hard to get? Who grants it?

Also, cany they deny to give you a dispensation? Who denies it and why?

All dispensations regarding marriage are issued by the bishop or those to whom he delegates that authority. In most cases this is handled by the priest or deacon who is preparing you for marriage.

While it is certainly possible for such a dispensation to be denied (again, by the bishop or his designee), this would be exceptionally rare.

Could you give me an example of when it could be denied? Just for knowledge sake.

About the only time it would be denied (assuming all other conditions of freedom to marry are present) would be marriage to an active anti-Catholic person who strives to lead people from the Church. Such a marriage would probably be denied because it would be a threat to the faith of the Catholic party.

Beyond that, it would be up to the bishop to decide – and most are rubber-stamped if the deacon or priest preparing the couple for marriage believes it should be issued.

Just a technical note. It not actually a dispensation that is required for a Catholic to marry a Baptized non-Catholic.

A dispensation is the waving of the application of a Church law. Church law makes the marriage between a Catholic and a non-Baptized person invalid. A dispensation is required in this case for the marriage to be valid.

In the case of a Catholic and a Baptized non-Catholic only the Bishops permission is required.
