Do I have to receive the Eucharist on Sunday or does attendance on Sunday count?

If I go to Church on Sunday but do not receive the Eucharist because I have not confessed my sins, did I commit another sin?
In other words, do I have to receive the Eucharist on Sunday to comply with the rule or does attendance on Sunday count? It is my understanding that I can’t receive the Eucharist if I have sinned and not had confession which makes it very difficult to meet all the rules.
