First and foremost, I find it very judgmental of you to say such things. I do know these people, I do know this heresy, (I have spent quite a lot of time and energy looking up this heresy despite the lack of material on it.) and I am asking this question, not to see whether my “viewpoint should be confirmed” (which is a very accusatory and cynical way of describing my actions.) but rather to find out whether or not this behavior is typical of modernists and what it tell us about this devotion.
Second, and of even greater importance, modernists or not Catholics, they are heretics. Modernism is a condemned heresy! I am not asking this question “against fellow Catholics” but rather, to fellow-Catholics against heretics.
Third and finally, the purpose of this question is not to cause division. The purpose of this question, as I mentioned above, is me and others to learn something the Divine Mercy Devotion, and the modernist heresy. I have a devotion to the Divine Mercy, which I really love, and I know two modernists who do not like the Divine Mercy Devotion. My biggest issue with modernists, is that they do not want to rescue poor sinners from slavery to their sins. (And the reason this is my biggest issue with modernists is because I myself am a poor sinner.) And so when I see modernists express distaste for the Divine Mercy Devotion, that got me thinking, “Hmmm, so here’s some modernist who don’t like Divine Mercy, and biggest issue with modernists is that they deny God’s mercy to sinners, I wonder if there’s a connection? Maybe should ask online and see how common this distaste of Divine Mercy is?”
So I posted this question to find out.
