My personal preference right now is the EF. My favorite Mass of all time, however, which I’ve mentioned on a few threads before, was actually a Latin OF that used to be offered in my diocese before the priest retired. It was entirely in Latin, except for the homily and readings, and the Ordinary was sung in Gregorian chant. While EP II or III was used most weeks, the Canon was always used on major feasts. The cantor would sing a traditional Latin hymn at Communion, and if I remember correctly a vernacular hymn was occasionally sung at the recessional. Sometimes a professional choir would visit and sing an entirely polyphonic Mass. I’m actually hoping to get that Mass revived now that the parish’s sister parish has a priest, fully trained and competent in Latin, who offers the TLM several times a week. This is especially since my work schedule this year will make it difficult for me to attend the TLM more than once a month.
