this disease is called also Strumpell-Lorrain disease or Familial Spactic Paraplegias.
I was always told by my grandmother that it is very rare disease (which indeed is) and that it slowly disappears in the family. So I am a little shocked that this illness still prevails even today as I found recently on the Internet.
In our family it was my grandfather with this illness and 3 more generations before him (as far as I know). And it seems that after my grandfather no one in ouur family has any symptoms. If you have yourself any experience with HSP in your family, does it usually disapper after few generations?
