Downloading music that is out of print

Is it wrong to download a musician’s album from a file sharing network when the particular album is out of print? The album is no longer made. I downloaded the album back when I did not think downloading music like that was wrong, now I realize it is. Yet, this album cannot be bought, so I wondered if I should delete it. Is it wrong to keep the album with the belief that if the album were to be reissued I would go buy the reissue to support the music artist?

Yes. It is still under copyright. It does not matter that it is “out of print”. That is the copyright holder’s perogative.

See if your library subscribes to freegal. It’s “free” and “legal”.
