Ex cathedra and CCC

Someone told me there was a whole section in the CCC concerning excathedra and infallibility. I can’t find it anywhere. I really don’t know what to look for.

Check here

PART ONE
THE PROFESSION OF FAITH
SECTION TWO
THE PROFESSION OF THE CHRISTIAN FAITH

CHAPTER THREE
I BELIEVE IN THE HOLY SPIRIT

ARTICLE 9
“I BELIEVE IN THE HOLY CATHOLIC CHURCH”

I think this is what was referred to. The first mention of infallibility is in article 889.

I mention here that infallibility is an identified charism of the Holy Spirit, not simply some power grab by an autocratic tyrant.

There is a much longer explanation of the subject in Lumen Gentium #25.

Ok thanks. I’ll look up that Art. 9.

The revered Fr John A Hardon S.J., has a great primer on How Infallible is the Teaching Church?

Thanks much
