A man who crossed the Atlantic to kill his ex-girlfriend after seeing Facebook pictures of her with another man was yesterday jailed for life.
It worker Paul Bristol, 25, flew from Trinidad to Britain to see Camille Mathurasingh, 27.
On April 3, 2009, he stabbed accountant Camille 20 times in her home in Bromley-by-Bow, East London. Bristol then stabbed himself in a failed suicide attempt.
He told the Old Bailey Camille had lied about her new relationship.
Trinidad-born Camille had met Bristol on the island but left to move to London in 2008. He denied murder but a jury convicted him last week.
Judge Timothy Pontius said Bristol, of no fixed address, would serve at least 22 years. He said: "It is clear you were eaten up by jealousy."
