Faith vs. reason

What are some of the quickest “sound bytes” that can be used to prove that faith is not the antithesis of reason?

Pope Benedict’s speech from Regensburg (the one that let to all the riots from Muslims) is all about faith and reason (which makes some people’s reaction to it all the more ironic).

Here’s a link to it, it’s not very long and your friend would also see that Benedict’s speaking/writing style if very academic rather than emotional:

Go and read Fides et ratio (reason and faith) by JPII

“Have you read the Summa Theologica?” is a good argument-ender against someone who makes such an absurd accusation.

God Bless!
