My 5 year old daughter wanted to vote.

Her favorite " boy " singer is Elvis. An Elvis impersonator sang “Teddy Bear” to her and gave her a Teddy Bear so she has been a die hard Elvis fan for the last 2 years.

Her favorite girl singers

  1. Kelly Clarkson
  2. Reba
  3. Hannah Montana

She was real excited when Kelly Clarkson was asked to sing " Ave Maria" to the Pope on his upcomming trip to the U.S.

I see all the Jrock you’re doing there, and the Malice Mizer. What are your thoughts on Moi dix Mois? I’m mostly interested for Mana’s sake, because I find the man utterly fascinating. Not much of a Jrock fan myself, though.

Hmmm…favourite? I like a lot of different groups/artists but the ones I always have in my “go to” pile, and listen to most would be:

Depeche Mode
Finger Eleven
Def Leppard
Tommy Dorsey
Ella Fitzgerald
Jann Arden

REM, wihtout a doubt.

They’ve had their ups and downs over the years, but their consistancy has been amazing. Their song lyrics can be very moving and thought-provoking, yet also despairing and even sometimes disturbing. Definitely thought-inducing. And with Michael Stipe’s unique voice, almost every song is a masterpiece.

From “Around the Sun,” words that speak deeply to me:

I want the sun to shine on me,
I want the truth to set me free,
I wish the followers would lead,
With a voice so strong it could knock me to my knees,
Hold on world, 'cause you don’t know what’s coming,
Hold on world, 'cause I’m not jumping off,
Hold on to this boy a little longer,
Take another trip around the sun.
