Favorite uplifting songs by secular artists

What are your favorite spiritually uplifting songs by popular artists?

I have at least three that have a positive effect on me (though there are probably others I can’t name at the moment)

They are:

Hands- Jewel
Wholy Holy- Aretha Franklin
Gloria- U2

Please share your choices:)

Well, any number of Josh Groban’s songs. There’s “You Raise Me Up” and “The Prayer” and “To Where You Are.”

I’ve always loved John Denver, too, for uplifting music. “Country Roads,” “Annie’s Song,” “Sunshine on My Shoulders,” and lots more.

To The Morning
Part of The Plan
Song From Half Mountain
-all by Dan Fogelberg
There are many more by him that I find lift my spirits. I have loved his music all my life.

So Small & Jesus, Take the Wheel-Carrie Underwood
My Wish-Rascal Flatts

And its not really secular but my “theme” song lately has become:
Praise You in This Storm-Casting Crowns

“Stand” by Blues Traveler
"Find the River" by R.E.M.
“Where the streets have no name” by U2
"And it Stoned Me" by Van Morrison
"Time in a Bottle" by Jim Croce
"Fire and Rain" by James Taylor
"Love is all around" by the Troggs

Oohh I forgot about U2 songs. They have tons that are inspiring to me!

One song I still listen to with the windows shut is…Unborn Child…but also a favorite and in a sense theme of my life…'against the wind!" this completly describes ones life when the ten commandments is a goal ,not to be lampooned ,but to be a role model…always uphill and against the wind!

“Watching You” by Rodney Atkins
"What a Beautiful Day" by Chris Cagle
"He Didn’t Have to Be" Brad Paisley
"There Goes My Life" Kenney Chesney
"Watching Waiting" Extreme
"Til Death Do Us Part" White Lion

There are more, but this is all I could come up with right quick.

We Shall Be Free – Garth Brooks
Red Dirt Road – Brooks and Dunn

“Untill the end of the world” - U2
"Red Rain" - Peter Gabriel

Johnny Nash performed “I Can See Clearly Now”. Jimmy Cliff did a cover of it.
