First commandment

Are all violations of the first commandment mortal sins? Like intentionally not wanting to pray would be a violation of the first commandment, would it be mortal?

I encourage you to ask your question to a priest at your next confession. I may think I know the answer to this and your other prayer question but a priest is the one trained in this and best explain. You’ve had many questions and the only way you’ll have as many answers as you need is from a priest not us.

Why don’t you want to pray?

I pray Everyday, it is just a listed example clarifying whether all sins against the first commandment are mortal

Not necessarily. Sometimes you just can’t get into it.

Prayer can sometimes be just as simple as saying a silent “Jesus, I trust in you” or just acknowledging God’s presence. It does not always have to be something formal or lengthy.
