Flooding

#1

Please keep the people of North Dakota, especially those near the Red River in your prayers as they prepare for the predicted flood and possible blizzard. The community of Fargo and several neighboring communities are pulling together to help save people’s homes. Prayers for the safety of sandbagers as well as for minimal property damage would be appreciated.

Thank you!

Hear and grant this prayer, our God.
Please protect the communities of North Dakota, especially those near the Red River as they prepare for the predicted flood and possible blizzard. Please protect the lives, the faith, the properties, and the livelihood of the people in this region.

If You will, pleases reduce the severity of these conditions.

For everyone in harm’s way, for all who are trying to help~

Lord, please protect your people, protect their pets and livestock, protect their property,
please send help where it is most needed.

Hail Mary, full of grace, The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of death. Amen

I offer up my prayers to God for the people of North Dakota, that they be spared from serious harm and pull through this trial like brothers and sisters in the Lord for each other. I ask this in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Praying for all to be safe.

Hail Mary, Full of Grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and Blessed is the Fruit of Thy Womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now, and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Lord God, remember Your promise to Noah to never again destroy the world by water, and grant that same protection to the people of North Dokota. Lord, recently I saw on televised news that Fargo, and area in danger of flood, has been spared from the same economic downfall and unemployment that plagues the rest of our country. Reflect those same graces, Lord God, that You have provided to that area, and protect them from flood and property destruction, or, worse, loss of life. Grant this only if You so will it, Lord. Through Christ, Our Lord, I pray. Amen.

Saint Michael, Archangel, defend us in battle.
Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the Devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray;
And do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host,
by the power of God,
thrust into hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world
seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

Blessed Saint Gabriel, Archangel
We beseech thee to intercede for us at the throne of divine mercy:
As thou didst announce to Mary the mystery of the Incarnation,
so through thy prayers may we receive strength of faith and courage of spirit,
and thus find favor with God and redemption through Christ Our Lord.
May we sing the praise of God our Savior with the angels and saints in heaven forever and ever. Amen.

Blessed Saint Raphael, Archangel,
We beseech thee to help us in all our needs and trials of this life,
as thou, through the power of God,
didst restore sight and give guidance to young Tobit.
We humbly seek thine aid and intercession,
that our souls may be healed,
our bodies protected from all ills,
and that through divine grace we may be made fit
to dwell in the eternal Glory of God in heaven. Amen.

I haven’t seen an update, but I hope and pray that the flooding isn’t severe as feared, and that everyone and their properties are safe. Please, Lord, let it be so.

<< Psalm 65:5-13>>

By awesome deeds You answer us in righteousness, O God of our salvation,
You who are the trust of all the ends of the earth and of the farthest sea;

Who establishes the mountains by His strength,
Being girded with might;

Who stills the roaring of the seas,
The roaring of their waves,
And the tumult of the peoples.

They who dwell in the ends of the earth stand in awe of Your signs;
You make the dawn and the sunset shout for joy.

You visit the earth and cause it to overflow;
You greatly enrich it;
The stream of God is full of water;
You prepare their grain, for thus You prepare the earth.

You water its furrows abundantly,
You settle its ridges,
You soften it with showers,
You bless its growth.

You have crowned the year with Your bounty,
And Your paths drip with fatness.

The pastures of the wilderness drip,
And the hills gird themselves with rejoicing.

The meadows are clothed with flocks
And the valleys are covered with grain;
They shout for joy, yes, they sing.

Thanks for all the prayers. Please keep them comming!!! The rain has now turned into several inches of snow with more expected in the next few days. Many roads in the eastern part of ND have been washed out by flood waters from many creeks and rivers. The Red River is still rising and the sandbagging is continuing–it is expected to crest later this week (or maybe this weekend now that we have snow). South of Fargo the Coast Guard has been called in to help resuce people who have become stranded when a dike broke around their home. We really appreicate all of the prayers!!

Dear Lord, keep all those people in No. Dakota safe from serious harm. Let them pull through this safely with their hearts on fire with love for You and for each other. I ask this in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Our Father, Who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen.

We are cautiously optimistic that the Red River has crested!!! At this point the dikes are holding-Praise God! Please continue to pray for those who are helping to fight the flood, the people of the Fargo-Moorhead area and those who have evacuated as well as those who have opened their hearts and homes to the evacuees. God is good!!
