If Fr. Judge was living a chaste life, it shouldn’t matter what his sexual temptations were; it matters that he overcame them. If he wasn’t living a chaste life, a selfless death can pay for that.
But yeah, nobody promotes a guy as an “adulterous saint,” “fornicating saint,” or “lusting saint,” much less a “thieving saint” or “murderous saint.” You don’t become a saint as a showcase and recommendation for your besetting sins and temptations.
The point is that they sinned, but then they repented.
The important thing is being a “repentant saint,” a “virtuous saint,” and a “heroic saint.”
