For a Law Enforcement Chaplain who suffers from Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome (CVS)

I humbly ask you please consider Law Enforcement Chaplain K. Harris in your prayers. A sincere and genuine Christian who since 2012 has developed Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome (CVS) associated with Abdominal Migraines; a chronic illness that is rare in adults. Please pray for him and his family. I can only beg for God’s will that they can overcome this painful and difficult situation.

In his most recent message and request for prayers and help he wrote;
“I feel very embarrassed to have to ask; especially as a chaplain, who is usually on the other side of this type of situation, but I guess sometimes you have to humble yourself and ask for service from others.”

A typical day when I am sick is:

*I wake up being extremely nauseated
*I vomit approximately 75 – 100 times per day for usually two days
*I then get severe pain in my stomach, which is attributed to my abdominal migraine
*After not eating for 3-4 days, I become exceedingly dehydrated
*I travel to the ER or Urgent Care to be treated

And then start if all over again the next week
All the while my wife has to care for myself along with our five kids

I do not want you to feel sorry for me, I just wanted you to see the strain this illness puts on families.

In advance I thank you for all your prayers and goodwill.

I just prayed 3 Hail Marys for your friend. May Our Lord’s holy Will be done in his life.

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary,
that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection,
implored your help or sought your intercession,
was left unaided.
Inspired with this confidence,
I fly to you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother;
to you do I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful.

O Mother of the Word Incarnate,
despise not my petitions,
but in your mercy hear and answer me.

Hail Mary,
full of grace,
the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb,
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of our death.

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the malice and snares of the devil. May God restrain him, we humbly pray. And do thou, St. Michael, prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the other evil spirits that roam through the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

Lord, have mercy. Christ, have mercy. Lord, have mercy. Amen.
