For a priest in need of surgery

The associate pastor at my home parish is going on medical leave April 11 because his bad knees have reduced him to near immobility. He will be having a gastric sleeve surgery April 27 and needs to lose a lot of weight to get both his knees replaced in one year. He will not be coming back to our parish as he was reassigned. Please pray for the success of his weight loss, surgeries, and physical therapy. He is one of the better priests that we have ever had, very smart, a good homilist, and not afraid to say something is specifically Catholic or talk about how great our tradition is. He will be missed.

Our Lady of the Clergy, pray for us! Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the Fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Praying for a total healing for him. And God’s blessing on his future.

Prayer for a Sick Priest**

O Lord send Your angels to help our beloved priest, as You have promised in the Psalm - send angels to charge over us to keep us in our ways, so that we will not even stub our foot against a stone - Your wisdom is beyond our understanding and Your mercy is boundless and Your love never ends. In Your love and Your mercy, deal with him and us according to your gentleness. Send Your healing touch to bring Your servant, from this couch of sickness, the bed of suffering - so that he may rise to glorify with us Your Holy Name.
We know you have made our bodies but temporal vehicles. We are grateful for Your mercy, gentleness and love given through him and we ask, through Your eternal kindness for those that follow Your ways that give him strength and healing of body, mind and soul. As You have taught us: “With God all things are possible.” (Mark 10:27) So, we put our hope and trust in You. O Lord let us share tears of joy rather than sorrow about Your continuing work with our beloved priest. This we ask of You together with the Father which is from everlasting and the Holy Living Spirit - now and always.
Amen. +

Lord, your servant needs you. Be with him in his trials and tribulations and especially during surgery. Heal him so that he may carry out your work. How wonderful that this priest has a parishioner who is intervening on this his behalf. Lord, please answer the prayers of your people. Amen

Jesus, Master Physician of all times,
Your Divinity did not require a Ph.D.
Eagerly, You resurrected the dead,
Restoring the health of the sick.

None were a great obstacle to You:
For Your loving power is omnipotent.
I ask for Your abounding healing love;
Maintain my body and soul vigorous
So I may fulfill my daily functions.
