For all who suffer from Dementia or Alzheimer's

Eternal God , in whom mercy is endless,
and the treasury of compassion inexhastible ,
look kindly upon us and increase Your mercy in us ,
that in difficult moments we might not despair
nor become despondent , but with great confidence ,
submit ourselves to Your Holy Will ,
which is love and mercy itself . Amen

Memorare (Prayer to Our Lady)
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help, or sought your intercession, was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To you do I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in your mercy, hear and answer me. Amen

Praying with all for all.

Thank you for a very timely prayer. Our family has been going through great stress and upheaval the last half year, after my mother in law’s diagnosis of mixed dementia and Alzheimer’s. It has been a very difficult journey for all of us. It is an unforgiving disease that not only affects the sufferer, but all those trying to care for them. Along with the extreme strain on emotional and physical needs of caregivers, and the shocking demands financially, it really has been the most difficult thing we’ve ever encountered. We continue to pray for strength and guidance; we are so grateful for the help of others along the way, including this wonderful group. Prayers have been our salvo, and yes, sometimes my faith has weakened at times, but I always return to the peace and endurance that is asked of us as people who walk with our Heavenly Father, Mother Mary, all the Angels and Saints and of course, the strength and enlightenment of the Holy Spirit. We have seen the blessings too. WE continue to pray for others who are going through this themselves. Either through personal diagnosis, or helping loved ones. We pray for their peace, strength and guidance, along this very difficult path.

Yes, my grandmother had the same thing, a mixed diagnosis and I understand the strain on caregivers and sometimes moments of weaker faith. Your sharing your story will be an inspiration for many I am sure to keep hanging in there and reach out for prayer when needed. This was a wonderful prayer intention, one I have not seen for a long, long time. It’s good to remember those will such afflictions.

Blessings,

Mary.

Prayer for Persons Suffering
with Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia

Loving God, Healer and Comforter,
we pray for those who suffer from the anxiety, ambiguity and confusion of Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. Look with mercy upon their distress, confusion or isolation. Shelter them where dignity and peace abound. Grant them understanding helpers and the willingness to accept help. In the face of loss of memory and control, increase their confidence in your love and strengthen their care-givers. As the Good Shepherd, tend to the sick, rest the weary, pity the afflicted, soothe the suffering and bless the dying. We make this supplication through the intercession of Our Lady of Lourdes, in the name of your Son, Jesus and the Holy Spirit, now and forever. Amen.

Prayer for a Miracle

God of all creation, you who spoke a simple command and brought forth light from
the darkness, I ask you now to send forth your miracle-working power to heal all who suffer from Dementia or Alzheimer’s). You cleansed the lepers, opened the eyes of the blind and by
