For Card Parolin, Abu Dhabi’s new church will help Catholics grow in their faith [AN]

The Vatican secretary of state is in the United Arab Emirates for the inauguration of St Paul’s, the capital’s second Catholic church. In his message, he urges Catholics to “be strengthened in their efforts to grow in their faith, and be charitable to others.” About 900,000 Catholics live and work in the country.

Abu Dhabi - A second catholic church in Abu Dhabi was inaugurated on Thursday evening in the presence of Shaikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, the UAE Minister for Culture, Youth and Community Development, Cardinal Pietro Parolin, the Vatican’s secretary of state and Bishop Paul Hinder, the apostolic vicar of Southern Arabia.

We should all pray for the freedom and safety of Christians in the Middle East.
