For Madeleine L'Engle, Sci Fi Author, Dead at 88

Please pray for the repose of the soul of Madeleine L’Engle, science fiction author who wrote “A Wrinkle in Time.” She has just died at the age of 88.

Below is one of her quotes.

On taking of the Eucharist:
“I am not in love and charity with this man, I thought, and therefore, according to the rubrics, I should not go up to the altar. And yet I knew that my only hope of love and charity was to go forward and receive the elements.”
(The Irrational Season, 118)

May her soul and all souls through God’s Mercy ever rest in peace and may He bring consolation to all who mourn her…

I love her book “wrinkle in time” I send up my heartfelt prayers :gopray:

:signofcross:prayers for this intention…She was a woman with deep faith. May she rest in peace.

Eternal rest grant unto them Madeleine L’Engle O Lord, and may perpetual light shine upon her. May they rest in peace, Amen.

May the soul of Madeleine L’Engle and all the souls of the faithfully departed rest in peace, Amen.

God, the Creator and Redeemer of all the faithful, grant to the souls of your servants and handmaids the remission of all their sins, that through our sincere prayers they may obtain the pardon they have always desired. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

“If I could comprehend God completely, God wouldn’t be worth bothering about. I’m finite, God is infinite; the finite cannot comprehend the infinite. But we get enough glimpses.” (Madeleine L’Engle, Village Life Interview)

A good life well-written, and I hope a good death. Whatever held her back from becoming Catholic, she certainly hit close.

Praying for her repose…

Madeleine L’Engle was a remarkable woman. She visited my grade school many years ago and was wheel chair bound.(this was 20 years ago) Despite this, she was a mighty spirit and had a very loving heart.

I will pray for her repose.

I love her books.

Thank you, Madeleine L’Engle.
