For my boyfriend

#1

Please pray for my boyfriend Paul, who is discerning if he believes in the Catholic Church still. He has been raised Catholic and has fallen away. Now he wants to find God again, but he is not sure what that means to him, and he is exploring other faiths. Pray that Jesus may open his heart to the beauty of the Catholic church and that he may see the truth in Christ. It breaks my heart to think that he is going through this. Thank you so much for your prayers–I know I can’t do this alone.

Blessings of His perfect love

For Paul

I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
Creator of heaven and earth; and in Jesus
Christ, His only Son, our Lord: Who was
conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the
Virgin Mary; suffered under Pontius
Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried.
He descended into hell; the third day He
rose again from the dead; He ascended
into heaven, is seated at the right hand of
God the Father Almighty; from thence He
shall come to judge the living and the
dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the
Holy Catholic Church, the communion of
Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the
resurrection of the body, and life
everlasting. Amen.

Thank you so much for remembering Paul in your prayers. I really REALLY appreciate it. Prayer is so powerful. I will pray for each of you too.

Our Father, which art in Heaven
Hollowed be thy name
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done
On earth as it is in Heaven

Give us this day, our daily bread
And forgive us our trespasses
As we forgive those who trespass against us

Lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from evil

Amen

My prayers also.

But have him read this:

payingattentiontothesky.com/2009/06/22/called-to-holiness/

It’s based on an anecdote that Thomas Merton relates in The Seven Story Mountain when he first encounters the thought of becoming a Saint from his friend Robert Lax. All the RCIA classes and my course work at a seminary never introduced it to me, but today I really think it is one of the things that the Catholic Church really DOES. It’s sad somewhat that you need to be proactive as a Catholic and go out and get it, but Charles Peguy wrote “The greatest tragedy in this life is not to have become a Saint.”

Much love to you both

DJ

Hail Mary,

Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the Fruit Of Thy Womb,
Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of our death
Amen

Thank you all again for your many prayers. I am so grateful to have found this community. Also, to DJ, thank you so much for including that incredible link. I feel a renewed hope reading it and will certainly share it with Paul. He is struggling these days, and it is a challenge for me to know how to be there for him. Please also pray that the Holy Spirit will be with me, so I can be an example of Christ’s divine love and providence.

I will continue to pray for you all and continue to pray for my sweet boyfriend.

All blessings of His love
