For my grandfather who started Hospice yesterday

Please pray for my grandfather Vincent. He started hospice yesterday. He is at home, but in a hospital bed and diapers. Please pray that he dies a happy death. Thank you :heart:

I’m sorry to hear that EmeraldOak, and I hope that you’re able to spend some time with him. Just sitting by his bed and maybe reading the Gospels to him out loud would make him feel happy, I bet. That’s one thing I did with my father when he was in hospice, and I’m glad we were able to spend so much time together that way.

I’m praying.

:gopray:

I’m truly sorry for everything your grandfather and all his loved ones are going through. I sincerely hope and pray that he may have peace in his heart, looking forward to eternal Beatitude with Christ in Paradise, offering up his suffering for his salvation and that of all the world. I also pray that he may be strengthened, consoled and encouraged by all his loved ones, who show him the love of Christ by their own love. I pray also for his loved ones, and for all his caretakers. I ask for the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, your grandfather’s guardian angel (who will be with him even after his passing), and St. John Paul the Great. God bless. :slight_smile:

Anima Christi

Soul of Christ, make me holy. Body of Christ, save me. Blood of Christ, fill me with love. Water from Christ’s side, wash me. Passion of Christ, strengthen me. Good Jesus, hear me. Within your wounds, hide me. Never let me be parted from you. From the evil enemy, protect me. At the hour of my death, call me, and tell me to come to you that with your saints I may praise you through all eternity. Amen

Remember,
O most gracious Virgin Mary,
that never was it known that any one who fled to thy protection,
implored thy help or sought thy intercession,
was left unaided.
Inspired with this confidence,
I fly unto thee,
O Virgin of virgins my Mother;
to thee do I come,
before thee I stand,
sinful and sorrowful;
O Mother of thy Word Incarnate,
despise not my petitions,
but in thy clemency hear and answer me.
Amen

Hail Mary, full of grace,
The Lord is with Thee;
Blessed art thou among women,
And blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
Pray for us sinners,
Now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Our Father,
who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come;
thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen.

PRAYER TO SAINT JOSEPH
FOR A HAPPY DEATH

Glorious St. Joseph,
behold I choose thee today
for my special patron in life
and at the hour of my death.
Preserve and increase in me
the spirit of prayer and fervor
in the service of God.
Remove far from me every kind of sin;
obtain for me that my death
may not come upon me unawares,
but that I may have time to confess my sins sacramentally,
and to bewail them with a most perfect understanding
and a most sincere contrition,
in order that I may breathe forth my soul
into the hands of Jesus and Mary.

Amen.

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Prayer for a Miracle

God of all creation, you who spoke a simple command and brought forth light from
the darkness, I ask you now to send forth your miracle-working power to heal Vincent. You cleansed the lepers, opened the eyes of the blind and by
speaking a simple command, you empowered the crippled to rise up and walk.
You sent forth your life-giving power to all those in need, including those you raised from
the dead. I ask you to send forth your healing power into Vincent.'s body and give him the strength to fight his illness. I ask this through my Lord, Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen

Praying for your Grandfather Vincent to have peace & comfort as he awaits God’s embrace.

Poor man. I pray that he keeps his dignity to the very end. Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy Name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Thank you everyone for the heartfelt prayers. I have good news! Our parish priest was able to go to their house yesterday afternoon and give my grandfather his last communion and Last Rites. This is a big answer to prayer! Thank you to everyone who prayed :heart:
