For our veterans

#1

Hi all,
I know I’m jumping the gun, but I would like to ask you to be sure to pray this weekend/Monday/Memorial Day for the veterans of the United States of America, and especially for the repose of the souls of our veterans.

If you have a family member who is a veteran - thank and pray for them. If they are deceased, visit their grave, kneel, and say a prayer for the repose of their soul (be they Catholic or not).

If you don’t have a deceased family member who is a veteran - visit the cemetery anyways, and do the same thing for a random veteran.

If possible, assist at Mass (and receive) for the same intentions.

And, in closing, pray for an end to war, and a reunification of our soldiers/veterans and their families.

For the vets (or families of veterans) on this board/reading this post - thank you for your sacrifice, and know that I’ll be praying for you.

God bless America.

Eternal rest grant unto them, o Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace. Amen.

Lord, may enough people pray for peace as the Blessed Mothrer has asked us to, so that we may not fall into any greater wars. Amen.

Lord grant peace and rest to those brave souls who lost their lives in battle.

Grant strength and solace to those veterans who are still with us, as they will be fighting those wars they ended for us for the rest of their lives within their minds and bodies.

Thanks for posting this, Amen, Let’s remember what this Holiday is about and pray for those who have fought to keep us free…

Let’s also remember our priests who serve as military chaplains, bringing the Real Presence of Christ to our military men and women, wherever they are. They are greatly loved and greatly needed.

For those who are deployed and for their families at home, that they may return home safely.

For our fallen troops, that their souls may find repose and that they may be welcomed into the Lord’s presence. For their grieving families, may Our Lord may comfort them as only He can.

For all who have served or are serving in the military, for their selfless service.

And, always, we pray for peace for all nations. We look for the day when “They shall beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks; One nation shall not raise the sword against the other, nor shall they train for war again.” (Isaiah 2:4b, NAB)

Until then, may Our Lord protect our soldiers, sailors, airmen, Marines, and Coast Guard, and may He grant that they would do their jobs with honor and return safely to their families. :crossrc:

Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy Will be done, on earth, as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now,
and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Dear Heavenly Father,

As we remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom, we think of how they have followed in the footsteps of your son, our Savior, Jesus Christ. Please hold our service men and women in your strong arms. Cover them with your sheltering grace and presence as they stand in the gap for our protection.

We also remember the families of our troops, and ask for your unique blessings to fill their homes and your peace, provision and strength to fill their lives.

May the members of our armed forces be filled with courage to face each day and may they trust in the Lord’s mighty power to accomplish each task. Let our military brothers and sisters feel our love and support.

In the name of Jesus. Amen.

Loving God,

We lift up our intentions for all our veterans and ask for your continued blessings, mercy, and strength for each of them.

I pray especially for my dear departed father in law, a 22 year veteran of the U.S. Navy.

Amen.

No one has greater love than this, to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. John 15:13

Thank you to all the men and women who have served our country faithfully in the military.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now,
and at the hour of our death.
Amen.
