Participate in the Year of the Eucharist!
Join Cardinal George and your Fellow Parish Coordinators for a Eucharistic
Procession in Grant Park!

You’re invited! One of the last gifts left to the Church by the late Pope
John Paul II was his proclamation of the present Year of the Eucharist.
With this in mind, Cardinal George invites you to join him and Catholics
from across the Archdiocese of Chicago in a major public celebration to
honor the Most Blessed Sacrament on the afternoon of Friday, August 5.

At approximately 1 p.m. on Friday, August 5, the auxiliary bishops of the
Archdiocese of Chicago and Cardinal George will join representatives of
the Knights of Columbus to carry the Blessed Sacrament in procession from
the Chicago Hilton Hotel to Chicago’s Petrillo Music Shell (located in
Grant Park at the intersection of Columbus Drive and Jackson Boulevard),
where a service of adoration and Benediction will be celebrated.

Parish Respect Life Coordinators and Committee Members, Pro-Life Leaders
and any other Friends of the Pro-Life Movement who wish to attend are
invited to meet between 12:30pm and 1pm on the north side of Buckingham
Fountain, so that we may participate in this procession, Adoration and
Benediction together! A sign for Respect Life will identify our group. You
may also bring banners to identify your group or parish if you wish. Also,
please bring lawn chairs or blankets, as well as plenty of water for you
and your family! If you wish, you may volunteer to serve as a Marshall to
assist in directing people.

This is DEFINITELY worth taking off a Friday afternoon of work to attend.
Don’t miss this awesome event!!! We hope to see you there!
