For the military

#1

I ask that everyone please remember to include military personnel and veterans in your prayers. Especially those who have given their lives. Please pray for not only American soldiers but also pray for Canadian, British and all the other soldiers of our allies. Please remember to give a prayer of thanksgiving to the wounded and all the other veterans who have served as well as their families who also sacrifice so much.

Lord please watch over all of the soldiers and their families. Help us to show compassion to those who have been wounded. To those men and women who have died for their countries I thank you for allowing such wonderful men and women to live and for their willingness to serve their countries may we never forget those who have made the ultimate sacrifice and their families. Thank you for all the veterans who were willing to risk their lives and served their countries honorably. I ask this in the name of Jesus amen.

Dear Lord, bless all in the military. Give them the courage to keep faithful to you when times are difficult. May they never despair and lose hope in you and your loving providence in their lives. May they all be devoted to you and serve You like soldiers for the Kingdom and be rewarded for all their efforts. Bless all veterans and deepen their faith in you by revealing yourself to them in a special way. I ask this in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

It was this post in The Faithfully Departed: Memories & Prayers that inspired me to start this thread.

Most of my friends are active military or veterans so praying for soldiers is very important to me. I am unable to serve myself so instead I do everything in my power to make sure soldiers know they are appreciated and to make certain that all MIAs and those who have fallen are never forgotten. I am inspired by the heroism of Sergeant Mason and Sergeant Ruhen who were killed by suicide bomber on December 21, 2004. These two heroes spent their lives helping others. Each day I try to do the same in their honor. Thank you for your service Rocket.

Prayer for the Army
Lord God of hosts, stretch forth, we pray, your almighty arm to strengthen and protect the soldiers of our country. Support them in the day of battle, and in the time to test and training keep them safe from all evil. Endow them with courage and loyalty; and grant that in all things they may serve without reproach; throug Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Prayer for the Marine Corps
Eternal Father, we commend to your protection and care the members of the Marine Corps. Guide and direct them in the defense of our country and in the maintenance of justice among the nations. Sustain them in the hour of danger. Grant that wherever they serve they may be loyal to their high traditions, and that at all times they may put their trust in you; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Prayer for the Navy
Eternal Lord God, you alone spread out the heavens and rule the raging sea. Take into your most gracious protection our country’s Navy and all who serve therein. Preserve them from the dangers of the sea and grom the violence of the enemy, that they may be a safeguard unto the [state the name of the country e.g. United States of America, and a security for such as sail upon the seas in peaceful and lawful missions. In serving you, O Lord, may our sailors serve their country; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

**Prayer for the Air Force
Lord God of hosts, you stretch out the heavens like a curtain. Watch over and protect, we pray, the airmen of our country as they fly upon their appointed tasks. Give them courage as they face the foe, and skill in the performance of their duty. Sustain them with your everlasting arms. May your hand lead them, and your right hand hold them us, that they may return to the earth with a grateful sense of your mercy; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Prayer for the Coast Guard
Lord our God, who stilled the raging of the seas by your word of power; watch over, we pray you, the men and women of the Coast Guard as they sail upon their missions of vigilant aid. Grant them courage and skill and a safe return. Fill them with a grateful sens of your mercy toward them; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
