For the sick and dying

Our God, even when sickness is prolonged or life-thretening please give hope of a cure. Please heal whom You will in answer to our prayers of entreaty.

Prayer for the suffering and dying

Dear God, do not allow anxieties and sufferings to alienate us from You during life, and please encourage and protect us when we are dying.

Let our Redeemer claim the souls of the afflicted or dying. Ensure appropriate and kind care of their physical and spiritual needs. To the dying, to their carers, and everyone, Please passionate awareness of the true value of each human life.

Bless the chronically and terminally ill. Alleviate the suffering that sometimes accompanies the living and dying process for many persons. Please spare them, and my dear ones, this painful process of dying.

Send angels to comfort and assist them, as You did for their Brother in Gethsemane.

Grant love, forgiveness, assistance, and conversion to them. Give them repentance and trust as Your love and grace embraces them and blesses those around them.

Our God, because their eternal destiny is at stake, in Jesus’ name have mercy on those who are sick and dying, whether family, friend, or stranger!

“*Do not let your heart be troubled by the sad spectacle of human injustice, even this has its value in the face of all else. And it is from this that one day you will see the justice of God rising with unfailing triumph.” *(Saint Pio) “The longer the trial to which God subjects you, the greater the goodness in comforting you during the time of trial and in the exultation after the combat.”
“The most beautiful credo is that which comes from your lips in darkness, in sacrifice, in pain, in the supreme effort of an unbending will for good. It is this which, like a stroke of lightening, penetrates the darkness of the soul; it is this which in the flash of the tempest lifts you and leads you to God
.” (Saint Pio) “
By kindliness and loyalty, atonement is made for sin.” [Proverbs 16:6]

O Holy Child Jesus, who shed Your blessings on whoever invokes Your name, look kindly on us who kneel humbly before Your holy Image, and hear our prayers. We commend to Your mercy the many poor and needy people who trust in Your Divine Heart. Lay Your all powerful hand upon them and help them in their needs. Lay Your hand upon the sick, to cure them and sanctify their suffering; upon those in distress, to console them; upon sinners, to draw them into the light of your divine grace; upon all those who, stricken with grief and suffering, turn trustingly to You for loving help. Lay Your hand also upon all of us and give us Your blessing. O little King, grant the treasures of Your divine mercy to all the world, and keep us now and always in the grace of Your love! Amen.

Praying

#6

O my Jesus, Friend of the sick and Hope of the dying, give to all who ail, whether in body or mind or soul, Your Strength, that they may endure their crosses, and Your Spirit, that they may endure their crosses patiently, and Your Love, that they may endure their crosses patiently for You, and Your Will, that they may be comforted in knowing they are doing what You want in enduring their crosses patiently for You, and Your Grace, that they in their consolation of knowing of doing Your Will in enduring their crosses patiently for You may offer up everything - all their hardiships, all their sufferings, all their afflictions, all their joys, all their prayers - to God, in union with Your sufferings on the Cross, for all the intentions of Your Most Sacred Heart, which are the best of intentions. And if it is Your Will, for Your greater glory, O my Jesus, I ask You to heal the sick and the dying, in body and mind and soul. They who share in Your suffering and death also share in Your joy and glory, because the Cross leads to the Resurection and there can be no glorious Resurrection unless it is first proceeded by the dolorous Passion. And I ask this not only for their sake but for Your sake, O my Jesus, that You might be comforted in Your agony on the Cross, for You have said that what we do to the least, we do unto You. Amen.
