Former Scottish abbey school headmaster resigns from Oxford University post after abuse and cover up allegations at school

Fr Francis Davidson, the only surviving headmaster of the now closed Fort Augustus Abbey School school, faces accusations of covering up child sex abuse during his time as headmaster at the Scottish Highland facility in the 1970s. As a result of ongoing investigations following a BBC broadcast last month, Fr Davidson has left his post as monastic superior of St Benet’s Hall at Oxford Universityy where he cared for the welfare of students.
