From Russia the anti-family poison spread, and now from Russia comes the antidote

The truth is the truth where ever we find it…

The people in the hall certainly don’t agree on Putin’s behavior in the Ukraine conflict. They do agree, however, that we are in a global anthropological crisis that is attacking the nature and identity of the human person, and they share the same determination to rise against it.

Yes, I had noticed this conference being held last week.

I don’t understand the title though, that ‘anti-family’ poison spread from Russia? It has spread from the West with the introduction of contraception, free love in the '60s, single parent families, abortion on demand, etc…and more recently the complete disintegration of marriage through the introduction of SSM.

Although I haven’t read it, I have heard that all you mentioned is directly related to the Communist Manifesto. If so, then this certainly does come from Russia, not the west. Perhaps someone better read can comment?

Let’s assume that is correct, i.e. that it was laid out in the communist manifesto. But how did communist ideals ‘spread’ to the West, particularly as the West totally shunned Russia during the cold war era, as well as communism?

The West still managed, with its’ capitalist /democratic ways, to get to the same point i.e. the erosion of marriage and the family.

This stinks of soviet socialism. Everything the Soviet Union did was for appearances. The tried to hide the conditions most citizens were living in. The people lived in fear of being reported on by neighbors and friends.

The pro-family stuff being promoted by Putin et al. is propaganda. Don’t fall for it. Putin doesn’t care about human life; he just wants more Russian babies. Nothing wrong with that except that many children already are abandoned at orphanages because the parents can’t afford them.

No really, I think this could take off. All these “pro-family” activists have to do is explain that they were inspired by Putin and that they think we should follow his lead and incorporate those ideals here. I mean, there’s no way that Americans wouldn’t get on board with that.

Indeed. Because they are all about appearances, too.

From* September 10–12**, Moscow hosted the Large Families and the Future of Humanity Forum, which brought together over 1,000 people from every** Russian region** and 45 countries around the globe. The Forum participants received greetings from the Russian President Vladimir Putin as well as from: Valentina Matviyenko, Chairman of the Federation Council; Sergey Naryshkin, Chairman of the State Duma; Onuphrius, Metropolitan of Kiev and All Ukraine; and Svetlana Medvedeva, President of Socio-Cultural Initiatives Foundation.*

Konstantin Malofeev, Chairman of the St. Basil the Great Charitable Foundation, invited the* Forum** participants to **compare **the **typical **Russian family before and after the tragic events of 1917. The birth rate before the revolution was seven children per woman, and if this level had been maintained there would be over half a billion people living in Russia now instead of the mere 147 million, according to the calculations of Dmitri Ivanovich Mendeleev. Why did we have such a high birth rate? Because Russia was an Orthodox nation. In 1920, the Bolsheviks legalized abortions and destroyed 85 percent of the clergy… But over the past 25 years, approximately 25,000 churches and 800 monasteries have been rebuilt in modern Russia. We would **like **to see such **a miracle happen **in Europe. Apparently, our Ukrainian brothers were not aware of the fact that as soon as they sign the association agreement with Europe, they will have to support gay pride parades and same-sex marriages, which are alien to a country **with *such deeply-rooted Orthodox traditions.

Are you serious?

Moscow became Communist due to New York, London and Washington DC.

And Moscow eventually repudiated Communism, while the US remains in a Communist system.

For reference on the Communist thing.

Actually the Communist manifesto is a product of western thinking originally and it might be better to say that for a variety of reasons spread to Russia.

Whereas of course such conditions never occurred in the US. House on anti-American activities, cough, cough, cointelpro, cojgh, cough.

The bogeyman verison of the CCCP you are trying to conjure up may play well in a 50’s or 60’s comic book or in sensationalist material such ‘As it Could Happen Here’, whilst such material contains some truth it is a given value of truth and is just as propagandist as material the Soviets also put out.

The pro-family stuff being promoted by Putin et al. is propaganda. Don’t fall for it. Putin doesn’t care about human life; he just wants more Russian babies. Nothing wrong with that except that many children already are abandoned at orphanages because the parents can’t afford them.

Just as a small point before we continue further the CCCP is not the Russian Federation or vice versa. Putin’s governments offers substantial financial rewards to parents who continue to have children and Putin is well aware of and has spoken at length at times about problems in the orphanage system. Considering the US and it’s own problems in the areas of child care and associated issues it would appear you wield a rather notably sharp two handed sword when you make such criticisms. The issues in Russian orphanages need addressing but you should note Russia has a prime minister who wife publically campaigns against abortion tirelessly and runs a foundation aimed at training and helping young unwed mothers and is supported by the ROC Church in that endeavour. Putin has been praised for his efforts in aiding her vision by our Popes also as has she.

The article linked to in the OP stated that in just 5 years, there has been a 30% reduction in the number of orphans in Russia. I’m also not sure why you think this is propaganda and what it is you think we shouldn’t fall for. Is the message not sound?

The Communist Manifesto was published in the 1840’s in London originally. It was published in German originally of course due to the background of it’s author and it’s likely audience. It was nearly 25 years before it was translated into Russian.
