Good Books on the Papal States?

#1

I know that the Papal States are almost always at the center of any Catholic/Anti-Christ conspiricay. And Sadly that section of my Historical memory bank is rather bare. I was wondering if someone could suggest a good book (in laymans terms) of the history of the Papal states? I fear that the Lamar L. has none (though it does have InterLybrary loans so I can get it). Thanks and God bless.

I was looking for rather in depth books (200-350 pg. est.) but, thank you. It is always nice to have a historical sckeloten to place facts apon.
