Good stuff

“There are three influences which appear to Us to have the chief place in effecting this downgrade movement of society. These are — first, the distaste for a simple and laborious life; secondly, repugnance to suffering of any kind; thirdly, the forgetfulness of the future life.” – Pope Leo XIII (Laetitiae Sanctae)

This is just right on the money. I work in public school, in a city. I am surrounded on all sides by all ages of people who would fit this m.o.

And of course I would be amiss if I didn’t state I don’t fall into these categories myself sometimes.

Definitely right on the money. Furthering on the second point, should it be added that people have a hedonistic approach to life because of repugnance to suffering?
