Governor signs abortion anesthesia bill

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Utah has become the first state to require that a fetus get anesthesia if it’s being aborted at 20 weeks or later.

Republican Gov. Gary Herbert signed the bill into law Monday. It requires the woman to be given heavy anesthesia so that it sedates the fetus.

Supporters of the law say a fetus should be protected if there’s even a chance it can feel pain.

Well, that’s something; at least relieving the child’s pain.

A step in the right direction.

It is a step in the right direction; abortion is only legal because we as a society have managed to dehumanize the unborn.

It is anesthesia for the conscience.

How is this a step in the right direction?

Let’s see, we believe studies show unborn babies after 20 weeks can feel pain, so let’s numb the baby’s pain before we kill it!
