Happy Bloomsday!

Happy Bloomsday, everyone! :irish3:

Any Joyce fans?

Anyone find Ulysses too offensive?

Do you think Joyce was ever able to stop believing?

I’ll admit to not being a Joyce fan (other than some of his stories),
I don’t find Ulysses offensive, but it is sometimes incomprehensible - and Finnegan’s Wake is totally incomprehensible.

I don’t think Joyce ever stopped believing. I think he wanted to be an unbeliever, but just couldn’t. He was a very unhappy man and his life was sad. He was an alcoholic, often poor, his daughter suffered from schophrenia and some current biographers think that Joyce sexually molested her. No, not a happy man at all.
