Has anyone heard of Prof. William Thompson of Duquesne?

Hi all,

I attended a Bible study at a nearby parish last night. The teacher is a professor of theology at a local Catholic college. He said his mentor is a Professor William Thompson. I found some stuff on the Net but I’m trying to pin down exactly where Professor Thompson is coming from, theologically that is. (Conservative, liberal, etc.)

Apparently, he was a fan of Karl Rahner. Is this good or bad? What was Rahner known for?

Thanks,
Gene

Rahner was a major theologian at Vat II. Known as a progressive theologian.

Considering he’s coming from Duquesne, it wouldn’t surprise me if he were a little more liberal. I’ll have him next semester though, so I’ll see…
