“Have you ever been verbally attacked at Mass, either before or after?”
Not that I can recall since I was a young child and my mother let us have it if we misbehaved.
"I took a drink from a water bottle before Mass which he said was “forbidden.”
No matter HOW bad I felt or needed water I have NEVER brought a water bottle with me in the pew. IF I have a weak spell or I am “choking” and need water, I quietly leave my pew and go to the back where the sacristy is and get me a sip of water. But that has only happened very rarely.
"He said it was wrong for me to listen to music on an mp3 player before Mass"
NEVER have brought any kind of musical device into Church unless it was my Cd player that Father specifically asked me to bring so the congregation could listen to the Bishop’s yearly service’s appeal message. I don’t even have an iPhone so nope no way would I listen to any electronic things in Church, before Mass.
"He said that I should not hold a blessing cross during Mass and that I should not use it to bless myself. "
Honestly can’t address that one cause
"He also said that I should not be tracing a cross on the Gospel reading of my misallete before doing so on my forehead, lips and heart(!)"
thought that was only for the Priest or Deacon to do before reading the Gospel, on the book
"Finally he said my “5-on-5 posture” during the Lord’s Prayer was “not approved.”"
Well that is the way we were taught to hold our hands in prayer. I do that and cross my thumbs.
Now don’t go by me but these are just my interpretations of things.
Now about the drink of water, after my SIL had a bad spell from low blood sugar (she is diabetic and it was right in the front pew so it kind of stopped the Mass) she packs a small cooler and brings in the pew with her. I’m sure it has orange juice or something sweet in case this were to happen again so she could immediately drink it and not have the very bad situation like she did last time.
