I voted “No, but I really wanted to”. I was visiting family at Christmas, and attended the Christmas midnight Mass. The Mass was sparsley attended, so many pews were empty. In the next section of pews was a family with a little girl, maybe about three years old (I won’t discuss the wisdom of keeping a child that age awake for midnight Mass, since that’s not the topic).
Anyway, this little girl started running up and down the aisles, then she started runnning up and down the pews. On one pew, she climbed up onto the seat portion of the pew, and ran up and down that. Then she got down, and started swinging the kneelers up and down, banging them loudly. The whole time she was doing all this, she was talking, laughing, and yelling. Her family members did nothing to stop her. Everyone in the church kept looking at them; even the priest kept looking their way as he tried to make himself heard above the racket.
Finally, finally, one of the family members took the little girl outside. I’ve heard of “suffer the little children”, but really, now!
