I am a little confused on the “particular judgment” versus the “general resurrection”.
I believe that when we die we are judged immediately after death, and sent to Heaven, Purgatory, or Hell. The Particular Judgment.
I also believe that the Second Coming will be the time for “the resurrection of the dead”, where our souls will be reunited with our bodies. The General Resurrection.
But my question has to do with Matthew 25:32-34
32 "When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit upon his glorious throne, and all the nations will be assembled before him. And he will separate them one from another, as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.
33 He will place the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.
34 Then the king will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father. Inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.
If we have already been judged at death, what is happening at the Second Coming? Are we getting judged the second time? Are we simply returning to heaven/purgatory/hell, but with our bodies this time? It is a little confusing to me.
Thanks for being here to answer questions.
