Healing Mass?

What is a Healing Mass? I was listening to an MP3 file of a Catholic radio show and the guest priest invited listeners to his Healing Mass, as well as an annointing. What exactly is that?

Here you go:

Depends on the context, and normally has one of two meanings.

  1. A mass in which the priest celebrates the sacrament of the annointing of the sick, occasionaly with some prayers in the liturgy said for healing.

  2. A mass presided over by a priest with a charismatic gift of healing, or with laymen posessing gifts of healing attending. The sacrament of annointing of the sick may or may not be given out by the priest, but allows individuals to be prayed over by those who have the gift of healing.
